Dancin’ with Roxie is thrilled to announce their first annual Nutcracker production!

DWR is excited to put together a reimagined version of a holiday classic! Dancin’ with Roxie will incorporate contemporary, jazz, hip hop and more dance styles alongside classical ballet to breathe new life to this heartwarming holiday tradition!


Our abbreviated production will include Party Scene, Snow Scene, and everyone’s favorite - The Land of Sweets! 

Trust us when we say that the Nutcracker sprinkles magic into every family's holiday season! We can’t wait to share the memories with all of you!

  • Auditions will take place on Sunday September 7th.

    $75 Audition Fee

    No Audition Required | Ages 2 - 4

    Dancers aged 2-4 should register for auditions, and we will place you in an ensemble for their age group. 

    11:00 - 12:00PM | Ages 5 - 9 

    12:00 - 1:00PM | Ages 10 - 13

    1:00 - 2:00PM | Ages 14+

    If you are interested in auditioning and unable to attend the above, please contact us to arrange a video submission for your audition!

  • You should expect 2-3 rehearsals at your home studio per month, September - December, likely on weekends. (Clear Lake will serve as the home studio for Hampton & Iowa Falls students should numbers not support having groups at those locations). 

    Approx. 1 additional rehearsal per month will be required at our DWR Ankeny or Waukee location to begin piecing the production together. Additionally, you can expect at least one full production rehearsal in November at DWR Ankeny or Waukee. All DWR Classes, Inspire, Elite & Prestige team commitments will be considered when scheduling and should not face overlap.

    For high school dancers, we will work around your current high school dance team commitments. For Non DWR students, these will need to be communicated upon audition registration.

    Schedules will be communicated upon casting. We are unable to determine final schedules until we know who is in what roles!

  • Audition Fee - $75 | All Dancers Pay Upon Audition Registration

    Performance Fee - $50

    An additional performance fee of $50 is required for all participants, charged on 11/1. This is a one time fee regardless of the number of roles.

You will be asked to indicate your desired number of roles and commitment level in your audition form. Please read this carefully and consider all options when submitting as DWR staff will reference this for audition placement.
